#9 Medizinische Fakultät und Vingio parkas, der Waldpark am Fluss / Faculty of Medicine and Vingio parkas, the forest park by the river

Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.“ (Omar Khayyam)

/
This morning I took advantage of the good weather again and went to the Faculty of Medicine, which is located at Vingio parkas, a large forest park. The faculty is on a quiet street:

Medizinische Fakultät. / Fakulty of Medicine.
Von innen. / From the inside.
Exponate. / Exhibits.

/
The park initially appeared to be an old cemetery…

Schlafender Löwe. / Sleeping lion.
„Was die Kinder erben sollen, ist der Väter Heldensinn“ / „What the children shall inherit is the fathers‘ heroism“

/
…Then the park turned into a forest that ran along the river.

Auf der Brücke. / On the bridge.
Am Fluss entlang. / Along the river.
Um die Ecke biegen. / Turning the corner.
Versuch, das Glitzern des Wassers einzufangen. / Try to capture the sparkle of the water.

/
It was one of those memento mori moments when I felt the light between the darknesses and the luck of the spotlight pointing straight at me.

Sand.

/
Then I passed a wall. Behind it seemed to be the botanical garden, I caught a glimpse of flowers and a hut.

/
I’ll save that one for next time. I also passed a sports field and an arena where there were some closed food stalls.

Tomorrow in Vilnius there will be an antivax rally by an ultra conservative group of people that may gather thousands. Be careful from the areas of Seimas (the government building) and Gedimino street up to the Lukiskiu square. Be especially cautious if you’re LGBT and/or POC. Last time those people’s rally became a riot. There will be police but a bit of caution ain’t bad.“ Heftig.

On the way back I saw a few people with flags and was reminded of yesterday’s message from the Telegram group: „Hi besties! There will be police but a bit of caution ain’t bad.“ Heavy. Luckily I got home safely.
